About Us
Ella Combrink Camp site was the vision of “tannie” Ella Combrink and “Oom” Fanie Combrink, many years ago. They started the camp under difficult conditions and developed it as a youth camp due to their burning passion for children. They were instrumental in hosting many life altering camps at this site. When “tannie” Ella passed away in 1969 “oom” Fanie donated the ground to the youth of the Dutch Reformed Church in White River. Various improvements were made to the camp and on 16 September 1972, the first building was officially opened. “Oom” Fanie was the driving force behind further developments and took the responsibility on himself to personally prepare and supervise the campsite for each and every camp, up to his death on 15 April 1981.
Since that time the Church has developed the property on an ongoing basis. The camp originally started off as a youth camp but the demand for other spiritual camps necessitated the expansion into all spiritual camps across all denominations. Adults also make use of our facility for various types of camps. We also cater for schools that make use of our facility for a whole array of purposes. The camp now caters for Churches, Schools, Families, Corporate Events, Weddings, Sport Tours and Team Building Events.
We strive to meet the needs of group accommodation and facilities at very affordable rates. We pride ourselves as being a value for money establishment.
